Myth
"It's just a bad headache."
Migraine is a neurological disease, headache is only one symptom. Other symptoms include nausea, light sensitivity, irritability, brain fog, and more.5
Myth
"A migraine means throbbing pain on one side of your head."
That's the adult presentation. It's common for teenagers to present with pain across both sides of the head or little to no head pain at all.2

"They'll grow out of it."
More than half of teens diagnosed with migraine continue having attacks into adulthood.5

"A migraine lasts a few hours."
Attacks can last anywhere from 2 to 72 hours. The fatigue and brain fog after can last just as long.5,6
